At Qué Bueno Bakery, we seek to provide high-quality baked goods that you can trust even if you have food allergies and diet restrictions.
Back when our oldest daughter was nine months old, we gave her formula for the first time and ended up in Dell Children’s Emergency Room. Not our best day. After tests we found out she was/is allergic to dairy, eggs, peanuts, and tree nuts. So began our very complicated journey into food allergies.

Learning how to navigate life with food allergies and diet restrictions is tough. Life revolves so much around food. We quickly got tired of her feeling left out so I decided I would learn how to make everything allergy-friendly so she could eat anything she wanted. I’ve been baking without dairy, eggs, and peanuts since 2010. And while our daughter doesn’t know what cupcakes taste like when made with dairy butter and eggs, we do, so the only recipes that pass muster around here are ones that also taste delicious to everyone.
Fast forward to 2016. It was a rough year for our country and it ended with so much divisiveness. I think many people sat back and wondered what they could do to move forward. To love more. To listen more. To come together more. I did this, too. What can I do to break down barriers in my community? What can I do to include those that feel excluded? I can make them a cupcake. That’s what I can do. And if that doesn’t spread joy, I don’t know what does.
Also, as I come from a long line of Mexican mothers, this helps my perpetual need to feed ALL THE PEOPLE, ALL THE TIME, ha!
All of our products are vegan, dairy-free, egg-free, and peanut-free. The only tree nut we use in our baking is coconut. A limited amount is also gluten-free. Other allergies omitted upon request.
